Do you enjoy making others feel welcome and sharing your culture and highlights of your hometown with visitors? Would you like to be part of a team that plans how the CISV NY chapter welcomes CISV friends from other U.S. chapters and from abroad? Then the Hosting Committee might be a good fit for you in your CISV journey!
As a Hosting Committee member, you will volunteer to help the Hosting Chair plan national and international programs that the CISV NY chapter hosts. Here are some of the things you might help with:
- Coordinate with the Program Planning Committee
- Contacting prospective campsites
- Coordinating the scheduling of home-stays (when delegates spend a weekend at CISV NY members' homes during the programs)
- Coordinating transportation of the delegates to and from the campsite during the Program's duration
- Coordinating the Open Day
- Coordinating Excursions
That's just a glimpse. There's plenty to do, and something for everyone.
You will be part of a team that is essential for the chapter -- CISV NY children can only attend programs hosted by other chapters if our chapter also hosts programs.
If you are new to the Hosting Committee, you will receive support from more experienced board members. Also, CISV USA provides training for camp planners, if you are interested.
If you've done this before, CISV NY would love to welcome you back!
Please email newyork@cisvusa.org if you are interested in becoming a Hosting Committee member.
