Responsibilities
The Camp Director will:- Collaborate & lead: Work closely with the Program Coordinator(s), staff, leaders, and chapter representatives to ensure a safe, welcoming, and educational environment.
- Program design: Choose a program name and theme aligned with CISV’s Educational Principles, and develop the initial daily schedule and activity calendar.
- Task delegation: Assign and oversee responsibilities to staff based on their strengths; ensure smooth program execution.
- Quality assurance: Assess activities planned by leaders and participants to ensure alignment with the CISV curriculum.
- Administration: Oversee all reports, forms, and evaluations required by the local chapter, CISV USA, and CISV International.
- Role modeling: Lead by example—punctual, organized, and enthusiastic.
- Communication: Maintain active communication with the New York Chapter regarding needs, accommodations, and issues.
Time Commitment
- Pre-program preparation: Approx. 4 hours per month from September 2025 through July 2026.
- Training: 4 days in April 2026 (includes National Leader Training).
- On-site leadership: 15 days, August 2–16, 2026 (live-in, 24/7 with designated time off).
Compensation
- Travel reimbursement to and from the New York campsite and training.
- Coverage of meals and expenses during training and program.
- Stipend for the duration of the program.
