I had an amazing time at CISV Fortnight, a USA-based program. In 2023 it was held in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This was the first time I’ve participated in a CISV program since I was 12 years old (NY’s Mosaic). At the time, I was too nervous to participate in other longer programs, but after Fortnight, I wish I had been more adventurous back then!
My Fortnight experience was everything I could have asked for. As with all CISV events and programs, everyone was so inclusive, open-minded, thoughtful, and passionate about CISV. Because I was traveling by myself for the first time, going to Fortnight made me so much more confident in myself and my abilities as I get older.
I think this experience was the perfect mix of responsibility and fun. In Fortnight, the participants themselves create and run all the activities that happen over the course of the two-week program. This was the perfect experience especially for all JB members who want to learn more about what goes on behind the scenes and how to create fresh, meaningful activities from scratch.
During this program I realized how much I’d love to be a leader in future CISV programs, because of all the inspiring staff and dedicated delegates.
