CISV New York is seeking a thoughtful, organized, and people-centered volunteer to serve as our Leader Liaison Chair—a pivotal role that ensures our delegation leaders feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their CISV journey. If you’re passionate about mentorship, communication, and building positive relationships, this role offers a meaningful way to strengthen our chapter and the experiences we provide to youth and families.
What You’ll Do
As the Leader Liaison Chair, you will:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all delegation leaders within the CISV New York Chapter, offering ongoing guidance, support, and communication before, during, and after their programs.
- Ensure leaders have access to up-to-date resources, including electronic copies of the relevant CISV Program Guides and other essential materials.
- Maintain and update leader-facing documents and information, aligning them with current national policies and chapter practices.
- Participate in the selection process for leaders and delegates, offering insight into candidates’ readiness and fit.
- Monitor leader performance using national and international evaluations; share successes and address challenges collaboratively with relevant Chapter board members.
- Create supportive follow-up plans when leaders need additional guidance or accountability.
- Maintain a positive supervisory relationship with all delegation leaders, answering questions and providing extra attention to those who may need closer support.
- Coordinate post-program debriefings with leaders and delegations within 30 days of their return to reflect, capture learning, and strengthen chapter knowledge.
- Serve as the Chapter’s liaison to the National Leadership Training committee for any leadership-related concerns, clarifications, or procedural issues.
- Keep organized electronic records to pass on to your successor, ensuring continuity for future Leader Liaison Chairs.
- Sign an NDA and uphold confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.
